Pre-production work for the AKIRA Capsule.

This concept artwork for the capsule containing Akira's remains is particularly
interesting because this scene represents a major landmark in the movie- realising
the truth behind Akira. The cold industrial look eliminates any trace of biological
substance we associated with the boy Akira that we saw in charactrer's flashbacks
throughout the film.
I'm glad they chose not to keep the capsule looking like a poké-ball in the second
picture down- can you imagine Tetsuo shouting out "AKIRA I CHOOSE YOU"!
